Toyota Rolls out 100 Cars for Good to Help Needy Causes

For the third year in a row, Toyota will be holding its 100 Cars for Good contest to donate vehicles to worthy nonprofit groups.  Over the course of 50 days, 250 qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations will compete to win their choice of one of five Facebook logoToyota vehicles—including the Prius, Tundra, Highlander, Sienna, and Sienna Mobility with built-in wheelchair access.

Who will decide which charitable groups will win a Toyota vehicle to aid them in their efforts?  You and anyone with a Facebook profile!

It’s quite simple: if you represent an eligible nonprofit, visit the Toyota 100 Cars for Good Facebook page and click the “Apply for 2013” tab.  Complete your form as quickly as possible, as only 2500 applications will be accepted between now and the August 5 deadline, whichever should occur first.

Toyota will officially announce the 250 finalists around August 30, and those chosen will then have until October 1 to make good use of Toyota-provided promotional materials and spread the word about their causes and why their organization would need one of the vehicles available.  Organizations will be divided into a variety of categories, including health and safety, American service persons/veterans, environment, and education.

Then, from October 1 to November 19, voters will make their voices heard by taking to the 100 Cars for Good Facebook app and voting for one organization of their choice a day.  By day’s end, the top two vote getters will be declared the winners and will win the Toyota vehicle of their choice.  Not to be left out, the three runners-up will receive a $1000 grant for their organization, which ensures that everyone walks away a winner in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good promotion.
